YoSeMiTe

I haven't blogged for a while. But the past few weeks have been a little crazy (: I flew home to Utah for a week to help my family move to their new house about 4 miles away.
It was a good week to go, My little sister graduated from 8th grade... going to be a freshman... cute little girl. It was Connor's 7th birthday, and we had a couple family parties. It was good seeing family and going to see Sterling's family too. My camera broke on my 2nd day there... so the pics of Morgan on her graduation night were the only pictures I got.

I got home and on that next Sunday, we wanted to go do something super fun and different. (since Sunday's are Sterling's only days off all summer)
We took the almost 3 hour drive to Yosemite National park. We got there around 10am and found our way into the park and met up with another couple, Camille and Brandon and their 1year old Tylee.
We decided we wanted to do the longest hike and see what time we had left afterwards if we wanted to do any others. So we chose the Upper Yosemite Falls hike. We drove past and took this picture...
The hike was to the peak above that waterfall. 3000 feet raise in elevation. 4.2 miles up.
WOWWWW

the hike was crazy.. AND they didn't have a backpack carrier for Tylee.. so we took turns carrying her up the cliff. I only helped for a few minutes but it definitely was tough.. so props to them!! best parents of the year award. (:
When we finally got a mile or two up, we got close to the fall and it seemed like it was raining... there was water falling everywhere and it was SO loud.

After a few hours of hiking... we finally made it to the top. The view was AWESOME.

This is where the water ran over the cliff.

Then we hiked even farther to the "Pointe" which was the peak higher than the falls. I was a little terrified taking this picture, because... as you can see... i'm sitting on a rock which WAS the edge of the cliff.. it was a LONG way down.. 3000 foot straight drop.

a VERY VERY fun day (:
we were VERY sore the next day... felt like each of my legs weighed 500 pounds.

oh... and i got a massively lava hott boiling sunburn with some wicked tan-lines.
right on.
